Thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you will have a better understanding and appreciation for what it is we are trying to accomplish in our breeding program as well as what we take in the ring. We discovered this amazing breed one afternoon as my wife and I took our very first family pet a red pied red nosed Pitbull Rocky for a walk one warm afternoon in June in West Los Angeles, CA. To our surprise we saw a red bundle of muscle a Staffordshire Bull Terrier pulling his owner on rollerblades up a hill. It was love at first sight but would be several years later until we would acquire our first staffy through a rescue.
So 3 Years later we adopted Max our first black brindled boy, then 3 years later came a rehome via Loretta Drown of Sonshine Staffords who received him from his owner Johnny Duncan of Amaraillo, Texas named Steeler (CH. Bluesteel Whiskey). The 2 were cherished and wonderful additions to our family. A couple years later we then made our first purchase of a female Staffy pup from Loretta & Rocky Drown of Sonshine Stafford's located in San Diego, CA. So began our family legacy.
Ele' (Sonshine's Fonzy Girl) became an undeniable best friend to my kids and I. She became a friend and companion like no other. Years later after the passing of Max and Steeler we were blessed to meet Kari & Mike Ketchum of Qwik N Thik Stafford's and their lovely pied boy Tank (CH. Qwik N Thik No Think Tank) who would become our foundation dog and resident clown of our home. So with out giving a way to much of our story that we love sharing in person with new potential members to our extended family.
We have met many wonderful people through this breed and with that said give a special thanks to the aforementioned from Sonshine Stafford's & Qwik N Thik Stafford's as well as the many others which have offered their time in mentoring us in the breed, Jim & Melinda Cargil of McCrae Stafford's, Ken Steyert of Steyert Stafford's, Gary Smith of Blugrass Stafford's, Tyrone Canon of Trueblend Stafford's (Australia), Gina Crane of CC Stafford's, & Kim Washington of Castlestaff and many others.
Though we consider ourselves relatively new in comparison to our many mentors we do consider ourselves an ever learning student of the breed and like the Holy Bible new things are revealed daily about the amazing SBT. So we hope you like what we have to offer now and in the future. Though breeding isn't our first interest we do consider it essential to continue to strive to improve what we want to contribute to the breed as a whole and to develop and exhibit competitively in the ring. Our recipe which we strive to follow in our breeding program goes in this order; health, temperament, & conformation. All of our stock are sound in health and temperament and are valued members of their families as they would be in ours.
What an exciting day for us, our boy Spike (Maxsteel's Blue By Blood) winning his first Best of Breed win at the Kennel Club of Riverside Show in Lake Perris, CA October 2011. We hope that little Spike will have many more big days to come.
